Embracing Outdoor Painting

Would you like to learn to paint outdoors? Then this workshop is just for you!

An Intermediate Workshop for watercolor artists who would like to venture out into the open to paint “en plein air” – but don’t know how. How do you approach painting in the outdoors, how do you plan the composition, etc. This hands-on workshop is spread over 4 weeks, with a blend of online lessons followed by plein-air sessions.

What You will learn

•Composing the frame

•Simplifying drawing on location

•Choosing a color palette

•Making marks with confidence

Locations

1.A park with foliage & people

2. A market with stores and vendors

3. Indoor location (such as a cafe)

4. A street with Vehicles

What you will need: (for the outdoor sessions)

  • Watercolor paper (preferably 300 gsm Cold pressed),
  • Watercolors – pan / tubes,
  • A portable palette,
  • Watercolor brushes – a large mop brush (size 10 +), a large flat brush (1″ and above), small round brushes (size 6 / 8), a rigger brush
  • A water bowl (with an airtight lid preferred)
  • Pencils (HB)
  • A Portable easel (optional)
  • A portable stool (if you cant squat down on the ground)
  • Some old news papers

4 weeks, 2 sessions a week

Wednesday (online)  6:30 pm -8:00 pm

Sunday (on location) 9:00 am -11:30 am

Fees – Rs. 8,000/-
